1fichier is a free users dream. They've never throttled my download speed as a free user and their wait time between downloads is pretty short. Depositfiles is my second favorite, followed by fboom and k2s. fj and rg just suck for me to the point I won't use them.

Um, 1fichier started throttling about a month ago. They only allow 3 full-speed downloads a WEEK, the rest are at 50k, which has been my experience over the last month. I've seen it push a 2-hour wait as well. It USED to be good, but not any more.
Zippyshare is pretty much the fastest I've seen used here with any consistency. Openload.co, mega.co.nz, and uploadrocket sometimes run as fast if not faster (mega has run 2M+ for me), but links to those hosts are almost nonexistent. Why would the uploaders, who are almost all doing this for cash, use hosts that pay nothing and have no incentives for users to buy a subscription?
Most uploaders here are using K2S and Filejoker, with Fileboom taking the place (or alongside) K2S in PATM since it's one of the "required" hosts and k2s is not (even though they are the same company). Depositfiles is still widely used as well, but has lost a lot of share to FJ and FB in PATM and to KS elsewhere. Other hosts are used only to meet the requirements for most of the forums that Rapidgator and Uploaded have non RG/UL mirrors so that those uploaders can put their RG/UL links in, especially in PATM. There are very, very few standalone Depositfiles uploads any more- most are there only to mirror a RG/UL host. There are a few uploaders using some real garbage hosts- Upstore and Datafile, for instance, which are about equal in uselessness as Rapidgator, since those hosts only allow between 3-5 files a DAY, and usually at speeds under 50k. Uploaded doesn't "limit" the number of files, but the 3-hour wait makes it impossible to DL more than 8 files a day from them.
I compiled a comparison of speeds I got from allowed hosts here over the last month. Note that I use JDownloader for all downloads, in anonymous (no login) mode. I use a workaround for Filejoker, Keep2share, and Fileboom to get the "Planetsuzy" speed for those hosts, since copy/pasting the links causes them to download at slower speeds and longer wait times (instructions for that are in the JDownloader thread found here: http://freeperl.ru/showthread...=134046&page=8
PATM "required" hosts:
Zippyshare: Variable, usually exceeding 500k up to 750k. No captcha, no wait time, no que wait time. Biggest drawback is the 200MB file size limit
Depositfiles: Variable, capped at 200k but sometimes as slow as 15k. Solvemedia captcha (60 second wait usually, sometimes shorter) with variable (20 minute average) wait time between downloads.
Fileboom: Advertised 150k (planetsuzy clickthrough), sometimes as slow as 30k. Custom captcha with a 30-second post-captcha wait, 1-hour wait between downloads. (Keep2share and Tezfiles have identical behavior, all being the same platform)
Filejoker: Advertised 150k (planetsuzy clickthrough), sometimes as slow as 50k. ReCaptcha v1 captcha, with a pre-captcha wait of up to 4 minutes. 45 minute wait between downloads. Biggest issue is the captcha timer requires keeping page in focus; not an issue with JDownloader
Keep2share/Tezfiles (see Fileboom above, as all are identical)
Upstore: Variable speed of 15-80k, generally only the 1st file in a 24-hour period is at 80k. Recaptcha V1 captcha with a 60 second pre and 45 second post captcha timer. 1-hour wait between files, and number of downloads capped at 3 in a 24 hour period.
Datafile: Variable speed of 30-50k. ReCaptchaV1 captcha, with a 30 second pre and post wait. Doesn't appear to have a wait time between downloads, but number of downloads capped at 5 in a 24 hour period.
Bigfile: Variable speed capped at 100k. ReCaptcha V1 captcha with a 180 second wait, with a 25 minute wait between files (after a false captcha queue of 3 minutes before telling you that a wait period is required).
Uploadrocket: Exceeds 750k most of the time. Solvemedia captcha with no wait times.
Filefactory: Capped at 150k, often slower. No captcha, queue wait of 60 seconds. Wait time between files varies with load, sometimes none but often 1 hour. Biggest issue is servers often overloaded preventing free downloads, though other FF links will work if on different servers.
1fichier: Can exceed 1.5M+, but only 3 files a week at that speed, others capped at 50k. No captcha or queue waits, but up to a 2-hour wait between files.
Mega.co.nz: Often 1.5MB +, though I have seen it in the 200k range depending on load. No captcha, often no wait times between files, and multiple simultaneous downloads allowed.
Solidfiles: 500k+. No captcha, no wait between downloads. Fairly small allowed file size.
Openload.co: 500k+, often 1.5M+. 5 second queue wait, no captcha. No wait time between files.
hitfile, neodrive, depfile, nitroflare: No idea, as I have yet to find any links from these hosts.
"Restricted" hosts (allowed with mirrors):
Rapidgator: Capped at 90k, but speeds over 70k rare. 30-50k more often. Solvemedia captcha, with a pre-captcha wait of up to 3 minutes. 2 hour wait between files, with a 3-5 file per 24 hour period limit. Biggest issue (other than being so restrictive) is it often doesn't detect that a file has completed, claiming for up to 18 hours that a file is already being downloaded (seen with both browser and JDownloader, with different ISPs even). Also, for me it is the least reliable, often aborting a download mid file (fortunately RG is one host that JD can resume in free mode)
Uploaded/ul.to: Capped at 50k (but 70k if you have a free account). Recaptcha V1 captcha with a 30-second pre-captcha wait. 3-hour wait time (after prior file STARTED).
I've also tested a number of hosts not on the approved list here at PS. Some, like filespace and uploadgig are pretty much junk, with speeds under 70k and wait times of 2-4 hours between files, with captchas.
share-online is so-so, having no wait times between files but speeds not exceeding 150k, with RCv1 captchas.
cloud-share.in seems to top out at 200k (often slower) but has no wait times and no captcha.
uploadingsite runs fast, over 750k, no wait times but a solvemedia captcha.
kingfile was over 500k speed, no captcha and no wait time other than a 15 second queue.
uploadbank was 1.5MB+ with no captcha/no wait time.
Of course, things change. When I started compiling this, 1fichier was one of the better hosts but they locked it down. And some, I really don't have much data on because so few files exist on them.

Been a while since I used Depfile, and can't remember if the countdown was 30 or 60 seconds. Download speed was around 70-80/ks.
