How Do You Repair Disk Permissions on a Mac Companion?
I use an Iomega Mac Companion 3 TB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive 35198, purchased on March 28, 2012. I use a Mac Pro mid 2012; run Mavericks. I would like to know how to repair disk permissions on the Mac Companion.

With Disk Utility you can only repair permissions on drives that have OS X installed on them-that is repair permission's only purpose in life-to fix problems with OS X system file permissions.
On drives without OS X on them, you can set permissions to whatever you want without any problem (as long as you can read+write)

When i have disk permission issues which even disk utility can't help with, i turn to Disk Warrior. It's brilliant and it's helped me out quite a few times when disk utility failed on me. PS. I'm on mavericks too. IF you need any help send me PM, and I'll walk you through it
