Question Image Viewer Recommendations?

My niece gave me her old macbook with OSX 10.9.5. Its my first apple and so far I'm liking it very much. Can anyone recommend a good image viewer application, preferably one with a time-adjustable slideshow function?

I've used SimpleImage since my first Mac many, many years ago, for me it's the best image browser there is — unfortunately it is not free ($20).

You can adjust the slideshow from 0 seconds up to 60 seconds.

http://simpleimage.com

For some reason my version of Safari does not like the purchase page, I have to use Firefox to see it correctly.

I just use the default Preview app to view images, or even the quick-look feature (just highlight the image icon and press down the space bar).

I never did need to use a slideshow feature, but let me do some research and I'll get back to you, LarryO.

Yeah, I've found quicklook in full screen alone met my image viewing needs since I switched over 11 years ago. I like how I can easily navigate the images with the arrow keys and even zoom in and out with my desktop trackpad. You can even view images from different folders too if you select them in list mode in the Finder. Unfortunately while there is a slideshow built in, the delay is not adjustable.

One app I know that does have an adjustable delay for slideshows is the Mac version of ACDSee (ACDSee Mac Pro 3). They have a free trial as well. I haven't played around with it much but it was the first thing that came to mind. Might be worth a look and appears to be on sale right now too.

I can recommend 'Xee' (http://xee.c3.cx/) - the new Version 3 has a Slideshow Function. It was Freeware up to 2.2, but i don't know if it already had the Slideshow.

Very good suggestions.

One more-- more fully featured and idiosyncratic, Lemkesoft's venerable "Graphic Converter"

This one's been around forever, and does everything, its a Swiss Army knife for manager folders of images, does conversions of pretty much any format to pretty much any format, slideshows, whatever.

More involved than the others mentioned, its good for uploaders who may be wanting to manage complex folders of images, but too complex if all you want is a slideshow.
